Learning how to use a sewing machine can be a valuable opportunity for survivors of GBV. Sewing can also be a therapeutic and empowering activity that provides a sense of accomplishment and can lead to economic empowerment. The session started by teaching the women how to use a sewing machine, it is essential to understand its different parts and functions. Learn about the different buttons, knobs, and levers that control the machine’s speed, tension, and stitch settings.
In addition to learning how to sew, a Gender Equality session was conducted, explaining to the women about the importance of equality between men and women, how they should express their opinions and not be afraid from having feelings and thoughts. By promoting gender-based equality and addressing GBV, we can create a society where everyone has equal opportunities and can reach their full potential.
