Due to the difficulties faced by People with Disabilities to integrate into society and lead their lives normally, and among these difficulties is the shortage of centers designated to provide healthcare services for them.
As part of Iraq Health Access Organization’s efforts to ensure that PWD receive the necessary healthcare services. The organization, in cooperation with the Nineveh Health Department and with funding from the Children’s Village, provided healthcare services for PWD in Saleh Al-Shabakhun and Al-Samah Centers in Nineveh.
After noticing the impact of these services on the lives of PWD and their families, it was decided to expand these services to Anbar Governorate, where, in cooperation with the Anbar Health Department and with the funding of The Children’s Village , Al-Wihda Healthcare Center was opened in Fallujah district, to provide; public healthcare, reproductive healthcare, physical therapy, and mental health services for people with disabilities.
