Accessing healthcare services is a right of everyone, including people living with disabilities, and within the framework of the Iraq Health Access Organization’s endeavor to ensure that this segment of society can reach the services they need. IHAO, with funding from the Children’s Village Foundation and in cooperation with the Department of Health in Ninewa, continues to support both, Al-Sammah and Al-Shabkhoon Centers in Mosul, to provide public health services, mental health services, and physical rehabilitation for PWD. To note, IHAO’s staff at Al-Samah Center on the left side of Mosul carried out awareness campaigns to introduce the center and its’ provided services to the families in the area.
Due to the success of the project in Ninewa Governorate and the efforts made by IHAO to develop and expand its projects, a Unity Center will be supported in Anbar Governorate. Funded by the Children’s Village Foundation and in cooperation with the Anbar Health Department to provide healthcare services for PWD.
