With support from UNFPA-Iraq, IHAO conducts women support group meetings on Gender-Based Violence. The meetings were held in 8 GBV centers in Diyala, Salahdin, Mosul, and Kirkuk governorates and included the definition of Gender-Based Violence, enumerating the reasons behind it, the factors contributing to it, and its consequences and effects on its victims.
These women support group meetings served as a safe space where women recounted stories of Gender-Based Violence that they’ve learned of and then identified the signs of Gender-Based Violence in each case.
