During sessions, specifically awareness raising sessions, IHAO, supported by UNFPA – Iraq, and funding from KOICA in Iraq and Sweden, conducts them based on the awareness-raising toolkit for GBV cluster Iraq. Facilitators follow a structured session to facilitate according to a toolkit developed to help local communities comprehend and respond to the problems they face in regards to violence according to social expectations and responsibilities expected of males and females. These differences and constricts start early in life and sessions targeting young males and engage them more in understanding the effects of preferences and the harmful effect it has on the other more vulnerable gender. It would also engage them in breaking the cycle of it.
