Since 2020, the Iraq Health Access Organization (IHAO) has started providing healthcare services for People with Disabilities, to guarantee their right of access to healthcare, which started with Salih Al-Shabkhoon Center in Ninewa Governorate. A year after its opening, it was decided to expand the project to include another center, Al-Samah Center in Ninewa Governorate, given the need for healthcare services for people with disabilities. Today, these services are being provided in a third center as well, Al-Wahda Healthcare Center for People with Disabilities in Anbar Governorate, Fallujah.
With the support of the Children’s Village foundation, these centers have provided general and reproductive health services, psychosocial support, and medical rehabilitation services to more than 3,500 PWD beneficiaries since the beginning of this year.
