COVID-19 Awareness Raising for Women With Disabilities

COVID-19 Awareness Raising for Women With Disabilities

Because of the special circumstances of their cases, people with disabilities are more prone to infection with COVID-19 than others. This is because of their more frequent interaction with caregivers and healthcare providers, the difficulty some of them face when wearing a mask, and the accompanying their conditions such as diabetes and heart disease.
To ensure vaccination of women with disabilities, Iraq Health Access Organization, Supported by UNFPA, provides COVID-19 awareness raising for women with disabilities, coordinating with the Ninewa Directorate of Health to help women with disabilities register on the vaccination platform, and providing special cars to transport them to vaccination centers.
