Sign Language Training For Healthcare Providers From Ninewa Governorate

Privacy is the right of the patient to be alone for a consultation, make decisions for themselves, and decide how their personal information is communicated.
Deaf people communicate through different ways, with the most commonly used being sign language
Because healthcare providers should able to communicate and accommodate for the various conditions of their patients, Iraq Health Access Organization, supported by UNFPA, and funded by Sweden, conducts sign language training for healthcare providers from Ninewa governorate.
The training included the basic signs for the common phrases that need to be used during providing the health care starting from welcoming the patient, taking the history of the patient, giving the instruction for the positions of the examination and the proper consultation.
